We've been searching for new and creative ways to incorporate the Fall season into our home, and have found some major inspiration along the way. We wanted unique ideas. Something fresh for fall.
It's so easy (and beautiful and wonderful) to get sucked into the classic autumn decor staples. Colorful leaves, pumpkins and pinecones are all great, but we wanted to really transform some of our living space this year. Add to the texture, tone, lighting and overall design of the home.
We wanted to find our own subtle fall style, something that suited us and our brand, but that also reached outside the box. And what we discovered are some of our favorite timeless tips for fall decor transformations!
NOTHING BUT NAVY
Traditionally, Autumn calls for warmer colors. But this year, instead of choosing orange, yellow & red tones - we’re going navy. It’s a great way to add warmth, while offering contrast & depth to any space.
Paint a statement wall or door, gather vintage books, dye a pumpkin (or two!) and find a few classic navy throw pillows. It’s such a cozy, calming color, easy to incorporate with the traditional fall tones.
There’s nothing we love more than a bit of handmade, artisan goodies. So we’ve gone full-out this year. We searched for gifted artisans crafting wonderful items for a fall decor transition.
We love unique ideas, like cross-stitch wall art, handmade table linens & shabby chic one-of-a-kind items. Etsy is such a lovely place to find new local artisans, and a wonderful way to truly personalize your Fall decor.
MAD FOR METAL
Adding metal accents is a trend we truly can’t get enough of right now. We love the idea of bringing rustic metal pieces into the home for the autumn season. Creating fall highlights throughout each room, and really enhancing the seasonal ambience.
From clocks, lamps and wall art, to pillows, furniture & lighting, there’s always a space in a modern farmhouse cottage for a bit of copper, gold or brass!
